GLUTEN FREE GARDEN

The Kampong is quite the beautiful tropical garden located in Coconut Grove. I met Laura a year before her wedding date and although it was always planned to have a two tiered buttercream cake, we ultimately added a bit more style to it by making the base a double barrel. We layered this beautiful gluten free chocolate cake with raspberry preserves, delish! This technique is a trendy way of adding more height while not necessarily going bigger. Add florals by my sweet friend and edgy floral designer Veronica from Anyhology Co. and it's a perfect wedding cake.

The beautiful blush macarons served as favors for wedding guests. We were fortunate enough to work with a great team including Roxanne of Persnickity Events and Becca Borge Photograohy. Her gorgeous images can be seen featured on Elizabeth Anne Designs.

ISLAMORADA SUN

I can't tell you how many people tell me that I simply need to take some time off. I have to admit I completely agree with them. Finally some friends encouraged me to join them and it was nothing short of beautiful weather and the perfect amount of relaxation.

I woke up early enough to catch the sunrise from a hammock on the back area of the Ocean House property we were staying. The sunsets don't disappoint either, and being in good company for those always makes for a great time.

If you're ever in the area I promise the sunsets at Lorelei are breath taking.

Being in love with someone for almost ten years and having him by my side to create this life together isn't too bad either.

STRIPES FOR THE RALEIGH

What perfect way to add a modern touch to a buttercream cake than with offset stripes. This bride wanted buttercream and her fiancé liked the texture of a particular fondant cake they had pinned. This was my take on that and I must say I loved the way it turned out.

Add one of our black pedestal cake stands and it was as clean and modern as buttercream should be!

BLUSH AT BASS

I am fortunate enough to be able to work with so many wedding and event planners as well as floral vendors, amongst my favorite are Miranda Hattie Events and Julia Rohdes. We recently created this beautiful shade of blush with an extended height tier and placed it on our vintage silver cake stand. The Bass Museum in Miami Beach was the perfect backdrop for these colors.

The peonies and ranunculas where truly beautiful and we are so happy to have added our custom decorated sugar cookies and french macarons for Adriana and Ariel's gorgeous day.
