MEET JANDERYN

foodie. creative mind. sweet soul

Janderyn is a self taught baker, cake designer, and confectionary stylist.  She opened Earth and Sugar in 2009 and has hit the ground running. Aptly called Earth and Sugar, it approached confectionary creations in a purest, back to basics kind of way.   Janderyn has always believed in wholesome cakes that taste as good as they look, and her vision became the cornerstone of the business’ wild success. Reflecting uncommon thoughtfulness and creativity, her creations blend vintage and modern aesthetic elements to charming effect.

As a young child, Janderyn’s long time nanny, whom she referred to as her ‘Nana’ used to bake fresh pastries for her each morning.  Her desire to bake came from a childhood spent in the kitchen learning to create crêpes and meringue tortes to be enjoyed with tea and milk.  Baking has provided her with many warm memories and overwhelming happiness.

Great distances are no match for discerning clients intent on having one of Earth and Sugar’s much sought after confections at their special event. One of her recent works traveled by private charter and yacht all the way to Great Guana Cay, a nine mile long islet in the Bahamas, for a prominent economist’s wedding, where President Bill Clinton was a guest.  Her confections are exclusive and well known in the South Florida wedding industry.  Event planners, venues, and wedding couples alike specifically inquire about Janderyn’s work.

Earth and Sugar is an award winning company, and has recently been featured in over twenty five publications and online blogs, including the ever popular Weddings Unveiled, Style Me Pretty, Once Wed, Weddings Illustrated, Floridian Weddings, Wedding Chicks and Trendy Bride.  Her past background in marketing and consulting has set her apart in the industry.  She knows her clientele, and provides a streamlined vision and style for each one.  What comes of this?  Pure, lovely, perfection.

This coming year, Janderyn will be taking a big step—moving her blossoming bakery into The Social House, creating a comfortable space for client consultations and cake tastings.
